Reread? Ain’t nobody got time for that
Okay – Burn of the Everflame came out on September 8, 2026 – THREE YEARS after Heat of the Everflame. Woof, thanks a lot for that build up, Penn. But I’ll admit – 1,000 pages definitely made up for it!! So, where did we leave off at the end of Heat?
- Diem has 3 crowns at this point – Lumnos, Fortos, Montios – the other 6 crowns + their powers are:
- Sophos – memory/sparks
- Meros – water
- Faunos – animals
- Arboros – plants
- Ignios – fire
- Umbros – thought
- The Crowns met on Coeurile to finish conducting her coronation spell when Diem wanted them to pardon her and her mother of all crimes against the Crowns. Her mother- Aurelie, is the leader of the Guardians of the Everflame.
- Diem’s blood broke the heartstone at the first attempt of her coronation, so the Crowns were afraid of her
- Umbros Queen comes and is the tie breaking vote – she votes in favor of pardon just before the Ignios king kills her
- The Sophos crown betrays Diem and instead forces Diem to agree to a spell trapping her on the island by kidnapping her brother, Teller. The curse also kills anyone on the island that isn’t a Crown so no one can come save her.
- Perthe (Diem’s most loyal guard) is at the island with Teller, Sorae, Luther and he dies because Teller saves Luther and drops Perthe – heartbreaking.
- As Luther and Teller fly away on Sorae, the Ignios king comes up to Diem and stabs her with godstone…
So that’s where we leave off with Diem before Burn!! Talk about a cliffhanger. Weeeeee – enjoy Burn of the Everflame and come back for my review!!
